Our professional 'team' at Garw Valley Highlands numbers one doubtfully employable chartered occupational psychologist - turned farmer.

In his previous life Richard Oxby enjoyed several 'proper jobs' with benefits like a regular monthly salary.  He worked for management consultancies including KPMG in Manchester & Hays Group in London.  

At 50 Richard decided to pack in consulting, the company car & comfortable hotel rooms to 'retire' and take up his first love - farming. Before he was too long in the tooth to do so. It wasn't a decision taken lightly. Making a living from agriculture is a challenge, but a less stressed life with Highlands has other compensations for Richard. Psychological ones. These are beautiful animals - and it is their beauty & gentle temperaments he loves more than anything.
